With a population of roughly 500 residents, York Factory First Nation is a Cree community and a member of Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO), which represents northern First Nations across Manitoba. The community has a deep historical connection to the original York Factory trading post, one of the most significant sites in early Canadian history.
