Indigenous Community Partners

At North Star Air, our partnerships with First Nations are at the heart of who we are and how we operate. We are proud to stand alongside 11 community partners—Cat Lake, Deer Lake, Kashechewan, Marten Falls, Neskantaga (Lansdowne House), North Caribou Lake (Weagamow, Round Lake), North Spirit Lake, Poplar Hill, Sachigo Lake, Webequie, and Eabametoong (Fort Hope)—building strong, lasting relationships grounded in trust, respect, and shared opportunity.

A Partnership That Goes Beyond Business

Our approach is not transactional; it is transformational. Together with our partner communities, we are creating opportunities that strengthen local economies, build skills, and support long-term growth. This means:

  • Shared prosperity Through revenue-sharing agreements, communities benefit directly from the economic activity generated in their region. To date, this has meant more than $12 million back into our partner communities.

  • Education and training — Our Take Flight Aviation Program Grant helps community members pursue careers in aviation, investing in the next generation of pilots, engineers, and aviation professionals.

  • Unwavering commitment — We go above and beyond to meet community needs, whether that means adding extra flights when demand is high, rerouting aircraft for urgent medical or family emergencies, or lending support in ways that extend well beyond aviation.

Growing Together

Our First Nation partnerships are about more than transportation—they are about connection. Together, we are improving access, creating opportunities, and helping communities thrive socially, culturally, and economically.

At North Star Air, we don't just serve communities—we stand with them, as partners, allies, and friends.
