About Sachigo Lake Lake First Nation
Located in Northwestern Ontario, Sachigo Lake First Nation is a remote, fly-in community situated near the Manitoba border along the Sachigo River system, approximately 425 kilometres north of Sioux Lookout and about 600 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay.
With a population of roughly 500 residents, Sachigo Lake is part of the Windigo First Nations Council and has a strong cultural identity rooted in the Ojibway language and traditions. The community's location near the Ontario–Manitoba border has historically made it an important area for travel and connection across the region.
Like many northern communities, year-round access depends heavily on reliable air service, with seasonal winter road access supplementing connectivity during colder months.
